THINGS TO DO

2011 has seen the introduction of our Daily Events programme, providing visitors with an understanding and connection with the animals' we care for. Our friendly staff can often be seen spending time with visitors chatting about the differing species and unique personalities of our animals. The success of this personable approach has encouraged us to host a daily events programme; Lunch time feeds, keeper talks and Owl greetings offer you close up viewings of the animals as well as personal stories about the unique characteristics of the inhabitants.

2.30pm | 'Have a hoot' with the owls...

Meet 'Beau' the baby Tawny Owl and 'Ketch' the baby European Eagle Owl. April 2011 has seen the arrival of two baby Owl chicks at the Haven. Due to mothers rejection 'Ketch' and 'Beau' are being hand reared by our team of experienced keepers. This means they are tame enough to be handled and brought out to meet visitors at particular times of the day. Our Keeper talks focus on each of the owl species as well as diets, life in the wild, growth to adulthood and origins.

Talks last around twenty minutes and will conclude with questions and answers. Guests are welcome to use non flash photography.
